So we're a bit confused on this one...

We've sold hundreds of Nova 3dr rear windows, then we made one for our new car and it didn't fit! It was too large. Having checked and checked again it appears our glass rear window is smaller than any other. And we've never had one come back.

We know our window fitted in a 1992 perfectly. Our current car is a 1984 Opel Corsa round boot lock with a non heated window. Anyone shed any light on this?

Cheers

That's the first I've heard of it too, but I do happen to have an '84 UK Nova if you want me to get any measurements for you.

Or you can send me some free polycarbs to try and fit.

Just found my 92 rear window and 84 rear window. The 84 is much flatter, above is the early lead ontop of the later window. What on earth is going on!? Are there different rubbers early to late?

Nice try Iain!

Hhhmmm wonder if that's why my new rear screen seems a bit smaller.

No difference in screens on EPC, ie no Mk1 & Mk2 glass.

Its such an obvious difference. If you lay them both on a flat floor the centre of the Mk2 glass would be about 10mm higher off the floor than the centre of the Mk1 glass. We are a little stuck as we don't know whether to make another rear window for early cars and risk them coming back too small. But we need to do something as we couldn't even get it to fit our own car and don't want this to happen to anyone else.

Its not obvious until you lay one on top of the other.

Chrisd1986, is your new window non-heated or heated? The flatter early window is non-heated from a base spec Corsa A, the curved window is heated from a Nova Flair

It would be interesting to get another round lock boot and see if our standard window fits. But I think these are getting quite rare now in any condition.

Suppose if you made the flat one which is bigger it can be trimmed down but you dont know whats happened to the glass before you got it

The flat one is smaller! Haha. Our issue is our polycarb window didnt fit into the boot which the flatter glass came from (early car). It has a slight bow in but not as much as the later glass.

Nice try Iain!

Yes it was an attempt at a free window but it was also an offer to measure a UK spec Nova '84 round lock bootlid if it'd help.
