Hi, this is how mine was set up on my old racer - albeit with a shortened fuel tank

Looks a bit complicated, but the low-pressure blue pump pulls fuel from the tank (via the yellow filter) and sends to the bottom-right fitting on the swirl pot. The pot feeds the high pressure silver pump (mounted at equal height to for best feed) which sends fuel to the engine via a loop of hose including the silver filter. The return from the engine enters the swirl pot at the top-left fitting, and if the pot ever fills completely, it returns to the tank via the fitting on top :)

The blue pump is an electronic replacement pump with a diaphragm for a Morris 1000 engine. I used this because it won't knock itself to bits if it get starved during a fuel surge like a box-type competition pump. Ran this system on a 1600cc 8v GTE Stock Hatch car and never had any problems. All the way down to 2 litres on one occasion!

If you want to know how to plumb them, sbd have a guide you can download from their website...

Brucer, it depends why you want it. The in-car one is fine for the road/shows, etc. But if you want to do MSA licenced competition you either need everything covered up, or under the car. Fuel lines can pass through the car providing there are no joins - which is why I've done mine the way I have.

HTH :)

thanks kbf71, does look a bit much what you've done but sure does hide it all!

the reason I want it is because ive now upgraded to a bosch 044 pump which needs to be gravity fed, as my standard tank doesn't do that, I thought id do some upgrading now which should see the fueling side taken care of for future power upgrades.

thanks will, I know how to plumb it, just unsure where I wanted the swirl pot mounted, I like how bazzap has got it, but I was going to try it where he's got his lift pump

this is a pic of my plan, forgot to draw in filters though.

all I need to get now is the swirl pot and some braided hose, bought a near on new facet today and got the bosch 044.

I don't run a swirl pot, but it's a foam filled tank on a road car.

The hp pump for the swirl pop was mounted near the tank. I used a facet red top pump. Worked a treat.

That's a nice setup Ernie,

I've just purchased 2 new pumps, a shed load of AN fittings and PTFE braided hose to fit a swirl pot in the spare wheel well of my car, in preparation for TB's. I'm sick of coming off roundabouts and having to wait for the fuel in the tank to catch up before I can get back on the power!!

There'll be some pictures on my project thread once it all get delivered and fitted in the new year.
