Nobody realised the original post is a link...? lol
Non underlined links fail.
Makes sense, who looks at paper tax discs anymore? Suppose the only benefit of them is you need a matching disc to your pair of fake plates.

Personally I think the idea of pay monthly is good for us who have more then one car and don't use it all year, but to get rid of the paper disc altogether is stupid, as liono just said, theres lots of issues ith car id...
Also buying a car second hand.?
I thought the pay monthly thing was just a direct debit, you still have to buy 6/12 months?

Ah, if so thats ****, but i would love pay monthly lol but i guess you could just get refunds, just thinking pay monthly is more manageable, and it would make more potential tax evaders pay up..
I read it as a pay monthly thing tbh, since it specifically says "At present, motorists are able to choose whether they pay VED in twelve or six month instalments"

Sam here I thought it was a pay as you go which would work out better for people who use there car certain times of the year

Arsed with pay monthly, i prefer to get things that can be paid annually out the way.

I don't have a house or kids to pay for yet lol Don't get me wrong though, the idea of paying monthly is good for people who prefer to work their finances out that way :)

I miss those days of no bills to worry about just pay my mum £35 a week and have the rest to myself
if only this was in force already, i got a 100 quid fine when i was stopped a few weeks ago for failing to display a tax disc after it had fallen off the screen and onto the floor.

I thought it was £25 failure to display a tax disc
fines up here went up recently, not sure about england. definitely £100 which is shocking considering a years tax for the car isnt much more. police put down the wrong registration plate on my fine though so might try and say its not my car, need to look into if i can get away with it somehow.
