Try Pristine wheels in Milton Keynes. They are supposed to be excellent and specialise in diamond cutting.
I bought a set of these brand new from Irmscher 6-7 years ago and sold them on like an idiot :(

Evening,
As I'm still eagerly awaiting the chance to either collect the nova or have it delivered I decided i might as well get on with a few bits in the mean time.
Here goes then first off a classic brake upgrade to the Astra GTE 2lt 16v ATE calipers and 256mm vented disks. Nothing too exciting but worth it never the less.
I had previously started cleaning these up for another project then put them to one side and forgot about them so they weren't too bad to start with as you can see below:
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/JAMES-PC/Brown%20nova/P1010316_zps40c48178.jpg (http://s248.photobucket.com/user/Count85/media/JAMES-PC/Brown%20nova/P1010316_zps40c48178.jpg.html)
Like a T1T i forgot to oil the bore of one of them when they went in to storage so i need to sort that out.

This will be some build if you spend the same amount of time/skill on the rest of the car.
keep up the good work.
you better store them under your bed. my experience of cleaning calipers is that they are rusty by the time you come to fit them. Im sure its the brake fluid that absorbs the moisture in the air and accelerates the rust.
wanna do mine? lol wish i had access to a blaster!

I intend the build to head in a similar direction to how I've started :)
the first few pictures are of the calipers after having been cleaned three years or so ago and they've just been sat under my bench at work so im not too concerned. Will get ssome colour on them shortly once the service kit and new piston arrives.

Question to all what suspension top mounts are people using? Any recommendations or ones to avoid? I'm really after some with the bearing circlip on the underside of the mount.

very nice project. i am using compbrake top mounts and have no problems with them, they are actually in my rwd nova now so get plenty of abuse.

I took a very light skim off of the face of the original piston to neaten up the pad to piston surface
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/JAMES-PC/Brown%20nova/297A4C1A-23A0-47EB-AAC6-5EEC5D7109D6_zpslfymuibr.jpg (http://s248.photobucket.com/user/Count85/media/JAMES-PC/Brown%20nova/297A4C1A-23A0-47EB-AAC6-5EEC5D7109D6_zpslfymuibr.jpg.html)

All ready to be assembled
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/JAMES-PC/Brown%20nova/96E641B2-7BCD-4B76-854F-162620501122_zpswuofevyd.jpg (http://s248.photobucket.com/user/Count85/media/JAMES-PC/Brown%20nova/96E641B2-7BCD-4B76-854F-162620501122_zpswuofevyd.jpg.html)
My advice on assembly is as follows - Rubber O ring seal in first all nice and lubricated
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/JAMES-PC/Brown%20nova/842F799B-9B13-4BDC-BE70-4E55E754B139_zpspd2fsywi.jpg (http://s248.photobucket.com/user/Count85/media/JAMES-PC/Brown%20nova/842F799B-9B13-4BDC-BE70-4E55E754B139_zpspd2fsywi.jpg.html)
Then get the dust cover on the piston as bellow again lubricated
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/JAMES-PC/Brown%20nova/FC8D867A-FA5C-44B2-8A03-DC8784A80968_zpsjktkupyw.jpg (http://s248.photobucket.com/user/Count85/media/JAMES-PC/Brown%20nova/FC8D867A-FA5C-44B2-8A03-DC8784A80968_zpsjktkupyw.jpg.html)
Locate the dust cover - this it is a little fiddly
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/JAMES-PC/Brown%20nova/14C99A4E-7055-4419-A918-BF4C6C1466C8_zps3rtvx9jj.jpg (http://s248.photobucket.com/user/Count85/media/JAMES-PC/Brown%20nova/14C99A4E-7055-4419-A918-BF4C6C1466C8_zps3rtvx9jj.jpg.html)
Then slide the piston home
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/JAMES-PC/Brown%20nova/695E11B6-AE22-4B61-B1A7-AC18FE542AA7_zpsdqlpzabn.jpg (http://s248.photobucket.com/user/Count85/media/JAMES-PC/Brown%20nova/695E11B6-AE22-4B61-B1A7-AC18FE542AA7_zpsdqlpzabn.jpg.html)
Both Caliper bodies assembled with slider rubbers
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/JAMES-PC/Brown%20nova/982E6A6F-AAED-40E1-9BA2-6C7C3220F174_zpsszdwpnbd.jpg (http://s248.photobucket.com/user/Count85/media/JAMES-PC/Brown%20nova/982E6A6F-AAED-40E1-9BA2-6C7C3220F174_zpsszdwpnbd.jpg.html)
A small amount of thread lock on the sliders prior to insertion

They don't take as long as you would think (he says lol) a couple of hours a caliper I would have said. IMO the results are worth it. As for taking the pictures I find I helps me work methodically through the job.

Here are a few bits I'd previously cleaned up ready for some finishing off befor refitting.
I stripped the front struts off the hub carriers

http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/DSCF7878.jpg
the end result ready for some cleaning

http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/DSCF7881.jpg
Hubs and carriers in to the degreaser then the hot wash
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/ea2cacb5.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/61a57444.jpg
All cleaned off
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/340a1efb.jpg
When i parted the hubs from the carriers part of the bearing decided it would stay behind so before i went any further i needed them to part company.
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/b83fa83f.jpg
In order to remove this (for those who don't know) my prefered method is:
Clamp the hub in the vice
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/8d404e5e.jpg
Use the angle grinder (preferably with a thin 1mm disc) and cut a slit in the remainder of the old bearing being carefull not to cut all the way through - even if you do you can clean it up with some sand paper afterwards.
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/6b57adaf.jpg
Find a suitable hammer and chistle
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/6879f8b2.jpg
Count Vaux Alot
27-12-13, 09:00 PM
And bash the fecker so it cracks
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/b8806207.jpg
It then simply slides off leaving you with the hub indamaged (hopfully)
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/29711273.jpg
And the same for the other side
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/240dd961.jpg
Now they were both free from bearing reminisce
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/3ebbf422.jpg
It was on with the cleaning - fine sand first for the delicate machined surfaces
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/e6c353c5.jpg
as so
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/e3f511f6.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/72f54d75.jpg
then i taped those areas up so the more corse media in the blaster wouldnt damage them
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/449fd9a5.jpg
In to the blaster with the hub carriers and the hubs (old bearings left in place in the carriers so the machined surfaces don't get damaged there and i don't have to tape them up)
out them come looking bling
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/02d3fde5.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/bb0274fe.jpg
Gave the hubs a dust of acid etch primer on the back face
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/ecc6c10f.jpg
once that was dry i polished up the machined faces in the lath

http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/e7edebb7.jpg
I lightly greased the polished surfaces and bagged them for safe keeping
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/bb9b6987.jpg
Carriers primed ready for paint too, i think they came out ok :)

http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/gg167/Count85/Beige/e9868ebf.jpg

Evening.
After getting Christmas and it related pleasantries out of the way it was time to scratch the 'I have new car parts to fit' itch that's been nagging me especially as I've been back at my rents with the car sitting outside on the drive.
Anyway here goes:
Cracked the bonnet to double check that there really wasn't any rust around the turrets lol nice and clean

Needed to get the old girl road legal and had a few bits to donfor the mot - wiper blades, front tyres and an apparent leak on the n/s front caliper not that I could see one!
I thought this was an ideal opportunity to carry out part of the brake upgrade I had planned...
New tyres fitted

This is going to be a special build, one to watch as your skills are always top notch ;)
It looks good already but no doubt will be stunning once completed if your old brown saloons anything to go by.
