Anyone got pics of the gravitex for comparrison.
Benn is the 3M stuff like rubber, the same as the std nova underseal?
Yes its a rubberized sealant. You can bounce stones/sockets and spanners off it...

Anything out of a can or from the shelves of Halfords is gonna be crap.
3M Gravitex/guard for stone chip protection & baked on 2pack for colour.
Hammeriting can freshen up some dull looking arches but it's a waste of time longterm.

I have a sample of the 3M graviguard which has been over painted, in my eyes it's not entirely the same as the factory stuff, physically you can see that its 'set' to a harder compound than the rubbery OE product, but it's close. However I have managed to crack it away from the panel which does suggest it isnt very strongly bonded to the panel, it's an odd test that would be compared closest to the car being crumpled in a crash, but you have to question the ultimate capacity of it to resist undercar abuse from gravel etc.
I guess 3M Graviguard is the best product I've seen so far myself to do a restoration of the OE underseal. I think it is worth noting that stripping the OE underseal off to a bare floorpan & re-applying another product for the sake of just doing it is a bit silly, the OE stuff does a grand job when it's still firmly attached to it's panel. Repairing troubled areas of perished underseal & then fully painting the entire underbody would be my method with hindsight.
I've not used the Gravitex stuff. But the stuff i use can be used on boats(inside decks and like) as well as cars. Once it's bonded and dried its very very strong. I've not found it will easily. In fact cutting with a blade or grinder is really the only way. Jacking up on it doesn't damage it.
Any idea where i can get that stuff benn?looks much nicer than black waxoyl which i normally use
Bodyshop suppliers should sell it, 3M's own site should.
Remember it's not cheap. Can be 15£+ a bag...
