ive got a pioneer 450w (max) sub, and i have the chance to buy a kenwood 450w (max) amp, my question is would this be bad for my sub running it at such a high level, and would you advice against it or could i just turn the gain down on the amp?

cheers for any help

Your NEVER meant to turn the gain on the amp over 3/4's. Basically it puts a lot of strain on all electrical components and will kill the quickly. This is true for ALL makes.

Buy the Kenny amp and turn gain to about 2/3's or 3/4's that should power the sub nicley.

Tweek the XBC and LPF to it sounds right.

I general use the LPF not the XPC. XPC will more than likely distort the sub, LPF up a bit and XBC on nothing will sound better.

lets have a guess, is it the pioneer tsw 305 and the kenwood kac 819?
i too was looking at that combo. aint decided myself on what to aim for either. i was thinking of a pro-plus sub as they get good reviews and the kenwood amp or a jbl one. any ideas?
