Hi, just wondering, what the difference between 12s and 13sb engine?

Most important one is, whats the difference between the blocks? i weighted the 12s engine block and it was 30kg (66 pound)
Is the 13sb block the same weight?

And can i use the 1.2 head on the 1.3 block etc...

I'm getting myself a 13sb engine and need to disassemble it to get it whit me on the airline, so there is a weight issue on the flight for me to keep in mind..

Thansk guys! :)

Just about everything is different but just about everything is interchangeable lol

12s is a shorter stroke with larger pistons. I understand the combustion chambers are slightly bigger on the 1.2 aswell. You can use the 1.2 head on the 1.3 but i dont really see much point, better off putting 16se valves into the 1.3 head and putting the 1.2 pistons in the 1.3

Hope you are not flying by Ryanair. Dont think you will get away with a block in you hand luggage lol

You mean use a 1200 block & pistons with a 1300 crank.

Nope, Ryanair hand luggage is 10 kg max. with limited dimensions. Anything extra and they charge you the earth for it.

Vlietje, fancy an engine delivery trip to Norway? :d

the best way is 1300 block, crank & rods... then get it machined out to fit the 12st pistons...

then fit 1.6 valves to either the 1200 or the 1300 head, as they are pretty much identical..

then its lairy cam & 40's & a decent chimney

you might need to pocket the pistons or run on super duper unleaded with an octane booster
