battery for xe

The battery in my xe is failing and I have a battery from my carb 1.2 which is not being used.

Will this run ok in the xe or will the differences in ampage etc cause damamge to the battery?

Been running a standard one on my XE for a few years now. Size 036 I think if that means anything? It seems fine and never drains or won't start

The one from an astra GTE fits nice if you need a new one in the end

It's a drivetec 053 if that means anything? I think it's only a year old which is why I didn't want to knacker it but I can't imagine an Astra GTE battery would be much different?

063 battery will be fine (standard size nova battery).

I use to use a slightly bigger battry, it was meant for a diesel Astra 1.7 to 2.0 iirc it had more amps so better crank for the engine, less chance of it draining it, or struggling over winter, can't remember the code just fitted a generic one.

063 fitted to mine. Standard Nova one iirc.

Yeah, you're right, it isn't 053, it is a 063, my mistake.

On an xe I always used a 1.2 nova battery but when I went let it wouldn't crank it so have a calibra turbo one now

As above, 063 is the one, but get it tested, if its not starting it could be fooked, get it drop tested to find out (and no dont drop it on the floor lol)

If its a year old it 'should' be on manufacturers warranty, as long as you have the reciept, and its not a 'puracell' copy of a 'duracell' one!

Cold weather always shows up battery issues, they will be fine all summer, then the first frost and theyre like, "sod off, i dont wanna play"

The one that was failing was a vauxhall one that came with the car, I have replaced it with a 063 from my 1.2 so should be fine,
