hi guys!!!

im in the middle of jumping 2 feet first into an engine change...

ive found someones diagram off this site who has done the same (sorry cant remember who)

theres a lot of talk of a black 9 pin plug ....... should this be in the nova or the corsa????

im in the middle of removing the engine from the corsa- haven't even looked at the nova yet... I have the looms, keys, key reader things, ecu etc

should I be using nova gear box or corsa 1..... and im still stuck on how to get a speedo to work along side the speed sensor??

any help would be greatly apprechiated!

Put some photos up of the gearbox Speedo if you have a black plug ure gona need to run digi dash from an astra gte. If it's a cable drive you can run a Speedo cable on top of that.

Ure engine ecu will need the info from the sensor so if the box has neather of these and it's just blanked off then the car prob has abs and yoh may need another gearbox to facilitate this.

If you remove the wireing carefully it's possible to trace all the wires you need back to there required location, I did a calibra burnt out loom last week non runner traced all cables required to run up on its own, and just spent hours stripping an astra loom such fun :(

it is a corsa sport on a v plate, pas, abs, alarm all obviously not required for swap!

am I right in thinking that my f13 gear box will work with the x16xe engine, fit a digi dash and split the signal wire to the speed sensor and dash???

the nova is cable drive speedo

the corsa is electronic , apparently the signal comes off of one of the bearing sensors???

the black plug..... I don't have any black 9 pin plug on the corsa...but im under the impression that I should have, ive been given a really clear diagram which made perfect sense to me, all until I looked at the car and couldn't find ant black plug lol

I should of picked a car with no abs!

If you use your F13 box you can use normal nova analog dials.

I could yes, however my ecu will be looking for a Vechicle speed sensor signal, so I wood need some sort of device that fits in the hole in the gear box... Has a cable connection for the speedo and 3 wires for the vss

or am I looking at it all wrong!???

You use the cable drive transducer marked AA from a Nova SPi...this gives the cable drive for analogue clocks and the VSS signal to the ECU as well

As above they were fitted to Sri novas also as mine had one

But if ure gearbox has no drive or sensor in the gearbox ure in deep as there is nothing there to drive ether type of speedo

Looks a bit like a core plug instead

The easiest way is use the nova box I can't remember of the top of my head but I'm sure you can use the original sensor out of the nova box in the corsa box but if not digi dashes are fairly easy to get a hold. But I am almost 99% sure you can fit nova box running a cable and ecu won't cause an issue. Hope this helps

If your SR has an F13 box use that, if it has an F10 then its no good

The 3 I've worked on recentley all needed a vss signal
