Hi there as most of you will know by now i have a mk2 gsi with early 20xe and it has been off the road for about 3 years nowand i finally got it running yesterday after various problems 1 yesterday was the wiring was split on the coolant plug (CTS) but managed to sort it for time being and also the complete fuel pump wire is knackered so replaced that from pump to engine bay but had to put it to run on switch for moment till i can diagnose the problem..looks like maybe a new engine loom... but anyway finally got it running up to temperature and took it for a little test and seem to struggle to accellerate at lows revs but seems abit better when revs are up at about 3500rpm + any suggestions...??

It sounds like there are still some faults somewhere. You clearly have several wiring issues, so investigate that first.

Check the fuel pump relay too, if wet then not used it may have rusted up inside.
Good fuel?
Rubber on the leads still ok? That can perrish

I had to replace the wire from fuel pump to relay beacuse there was a small fire in car under dashboard and had melted the wire from fuel pump to existing loom in engine bay.... and when i put new wire to the existing loom in engine bay the fuel pump would not start up but when i wired it direct to battery it ran fine...???

You need to get your loom out and do some repairs/replacing.
