I am currently looking at buying another property (renting out my current one). I need a house with a garage or one with enough ground to build a garage. Also thinking about purchasing a wooden garage. Would a 10ft wide garage be enough to work on a nova? Or will I need a 12ft wide one? Obviously the wider the better but just wondering the size of garages you guys have. Cheers ;)

If have the space. 20x20ft prefab. Had them at 3 houses over the years. Ni need for planning and tons of room and usually whoever you buy from will install too. Saves arsing about.

Is that no planning thing just because its a prefab?

Prefab falls under the same as block or brick built. You'd need to satisfy the other planning exemption criteria too though (e.g. no higher than 2.5m metres if within 2 metres of the boundary).

As it's more than 30 square metre floor area you'd need building regulations involved though.

Mines 4mx8.4m or 12ftx26ft it's a very nice space and you can get a nova in and open the doors.

Build the largest one you can afford/get planning permission for, than doesn't spoil your plot/house

He with the most toys wins!

I'm at this dilemma now, got a builder lined up to build a 6x6 metre garage and now wondering if it's worth asking him about bigger!

18'2'' x 8'2''
Still not finished it yet!
Hopefully it will be wide enough to work on the car using a spit..?
