Mine never worked on my first nova and it passed ok
I have a Saab that doesn't have steering lock from factory as the ignition switch is in the centre console so I can't see how that mot rule about post 2001 cars applies

Think its just a bi note with regards sticking or not working properly prob most important turn left steering locks on hello bodyshop!
I thought Saab's had an electronic steering lock?
You should have one, it is part of the test. However the manual does also say:
It is acceptable for a steering lock to be removed if it has been replaced with another immobilisation device.
Doesn't define what form of immobiliser though, so technically an electronic engine alarm/immobiliser could be acceptable? Although it is under the 'steering control' section so one would assume its referring to a steering immobiliser.
