C16SE running problems

Standard c16se engine in a gsi. Engine management light coming and going, stays on when engine is on pull. Paperclip test is showing RON plug have replaced this but is making no difference. Have also tried coil, dizzy, air flow metre, plugs, leads all coming from another gsi running perfectly but still no good.

Engine is running well and pulling strong, just wondering if anyone has any ideas before i remove the bulb for the engine management light lol

Maybe changing the ECU? Or clean the RON plug connector?

is there cam and crank sensors on those engines ?

Check wiring to teh RON plug - very thin and brittle....

If it has a ron plug a dizzy with rotor arm and a AFM its a E16SE definitely not a C16

E16's dont have a crank or cam sensor

they do have a cam sensor

Well yes, hall effect sensor in the dizzy but not a cam sensor like coilpack XE's or indeed ecotec engines,
