View Full Version : Stolen - Miami Blue J132KCK
Well, after all my hard work getting my Nova ready for the road again, it's been stolen.
Stolen from Hotel car park on Friday night, this is my first chance for proper internet access, had posted it on facebook.

Parked in the Best Western hotel just off A1(M) east of Leeds.
I had just put a new engine in a 1.3S with four branch and full stainless, it had Bilstein coilovers and just plain steelies.
Cant see me getting it back.
Police not too helpful being under manned and under resourced.
No security, hadn't got round to that.

Gutted mate, i saw it on fb and shared it about, hope something good comes back.
Cheer guys for sharing it..
Anyone who has no security on their Nova - do it now.
I thought my wee car was a shed that no one would want - but they're easy to steal.
Learnt my lesson the hard way!

Oh no :( Sorry to hear about your car, fingers crossed that you get her back! Reading things like this makes me so angry!
Sorry to hear about your Nova, I have had several attempts done on my cars over the years. I always have them alarmed, immobilised and a visible steering lock. Although a steering lock only takes a minute to remove, a minute is a long time when your trying to nick something.
My mate had a burgundy two door saloon afew years ago and wouldn't buy a steering lock as "it looks awful" and he thought he lived in a better area of town. I still delight in going on about having to view his burnt out Nova because he wouldn't spend £4 in poundstretchers lol
Someone tried to seal my Nova earlier this year but thankfully they were unsuccessful. Doesn't matter whether it is a minter or a shed, thieves know old vauxhall locks are easy, and the doors bend easy.
Anyway sorry to hear another one has been nicked b ut, you never now, perhaps they haven't burnt it and you might get it back?
Advice to everyone with a Nova, alarm, immobilise and visible detterents, puts the thief off trying as much as stops them, prevention.
Hope you get it back. My Dads garage was broken into a few nights ago. Luckily the nova is pretty well immobilised but still a bit worried they'll come back for another go before I get a chance to move it. :(

While mine is off the road and in my lockup ive taken the ecu out of it and I leave the doors and and boot unlocked to save any damage getting in to it and the steering wheel is always taken off even if im only parked up for a hour or so

Is it cruel to leave a big dog in a car overnight?
There was a xr3i stolen from a garage near me that some scumbag used a mini digger to burst the doors open. if someone is after a car they will find a way,
I leave my nova in a few different lockups so there is never a guarantee that it's in any of them and I always make sure that I'm not followed
I was followed when I first hot my nova so lost the 2 wee tossers on the backroads

^ I'd be trying to loose them aswell so much car theft up here just now, there was a police helicopter beside my work last week was in the paper the next day they caught 8 people or something for stealing cars. Finally starting to so something about it.
Found not far from where it was taken, in a field burnt out.
No forensics, just cctv to look at then thats about it wrapped up.
Have to laugh at the storage place wanting me to recover it, pay fees etc...they can keep it!
Although friend on FB suggested getting it back, valver it for a rat lol. :) :)
Thanks all for kind words.
is it a total burn out? :-(

sorry to here about that some people when I have my nova on the road when I park or leave it anywere I take the king lead off
If I do another it'll get full transplant from corsa with deadlocks immobiliser etc.
On the positive side, I learned to:
- weld in important parts (from chassis leg)
- engine change
- wiring loom separation and wrapping
So all good !
gutting to hear it got stolen the torched buddy :(
Wounded for you matey, there any chance at all that it wasnt yours that got torched?
