Whats the oldest nova still on the road

I have the chance of buying a y reg nova, it got me thinking is it one of the oldest on the road with t&t?
What is the oldest the lads have on here?

I remember in the late 90s seeing a white Y reg and thinking "I didn't realise they were that old", only Y reg one I've ever seen in real life.

There's a few I can think of, wasn't the Nova VXR a Y plate? Elgan had a Y plate.

Yep Gennys vxr engined nova is a Y plate.
And to my knowledge the only one ON the ROAD.

Been doing a bit research on google,
The Vauxhall nova was launched in spain in September 1982, it did not launch in England till april 1983 due to union dispute that the car was not built in Britain, I did not know that I can"t find much info on a y reg nova thou so they must have been rare even then

One of my relitives has an 82 Corsa

Steve(Duick on here) has a very early Corsa A built it 1982. I think he got it from France.
It has different pressings in the boot floor, they travel a different way to the normal ones.

I don't know if I ever posted pics of the car here. But what is relevant, is the VIN. And the one of my '82 is ending with 03014. But a colleague has one that is even older, VIN is below 1000

I went and payed for it last night, We pick it up on Saturday I will post some pics, cracking story behind the car the old boy bought it at 6 months old, he only stopped driving it when he was 94 ! He give it to the mechanic who had serviced it for him from 6 months old, it was registered june 1983

Went and picked it up today well happy :), I have done a little research and this could be one of the oldest if not the oldest british registered nova"s still on the road;)

As you can see, there's only one reinforcement on the left side. Opel changed that in production approx. start of December '82.

@sama: the VIN of your Nova is 88100, makes it the 88100th Corsa/Nova built. was built around end of March/start of April '83

There's someone on here at PNG who has a real early '82 built one, a silver Luxe one with red interior

Great info there Duick :thumb: The 1982 on here is it a UK registered we knew they were built earlier in other countries so would like to find out if ours is the oldest in the Uk ? They weren't that many UK models before ours and it is pretty early 1 So it would be great to see if anybody has a older UK registered Nova out there ?

Yes I remember I think - based in Yorkshire (York) and was doing a nut/bolt rebuild? I think it was put on hold and I cant remember his username for the life of me. Wasnt it GMEX or similar??

Just a little up date,
I travelled down 2 kent 2 weekends ago to pick some parts up I won on ebay, I picked some parts up on the way arch and cill repair panels and also some gm wings, car is booked into bodyshop for the 6th of December :)
