Went for a drive today all was well car ran right and pulled good, got back and started running a little lumpy so opened bonnet and it got worse to the point were i revved it and it cut out. So when it cut out i unplugged ecu to check pins all was fine, and one by one took out the fuses to check all was fine again, so then i start the car up and it ran fine again :S. It's like an intermittent misfire, it did it the other day while out driving but stopped after a while.
Any ideas?

Could be anything. The fact it sorted after you'd unplugged the ecu suggests it's an electrical fault. Do you have the mgt light wired in?

I dont think it is wired in, and there is no obd port to plug in and find any fault codes, the engine is from an 89' car not sure which one.
You don't need an obd port. Wire the light in and you can read the codes by earthing the brown and yellow wire...

Oh yeah lol forgot about the codes haha, i need to get some of the bulbs for the digidash as it only has 2 along the bottom, so when i get them ill wire mgt light in.
Till then im going to check fuel and air lines tomorrow, just to make sure its not an air leak or something
Can just hook it up to any 12v bulb to flash the codes

Have sorted it, i was at a car meet the other week and people were commenting on the smell of fuel from my car so guessed it was overfueling so turned the fse down, this is what's caused it to cough and splutter and run like a bag of spanners lol.
Took it to a guy today that specialises in xe's and he turned it back up and said it must of been set to over fuel for a reason i.e either cammed or ported and polished lol, but all sorted now :) oh and found what the smell of fuel was, the fuel line going to the injectors is leaking a bit, ill sort that out tomorrow then wont smell of fuel lol
