after assembling the engine and trying to start it i found a fuel leak on the no1 injector on the fuel rail

ive taken the rail off the engine and found the o-ring has a chunk out of it

upon replaceing the oring with a spare from my 1600 engine i cant get the rail back on the injectors

now haynes says to use new o-rings...

is this because the new rings are a much tighter fit??

cheers for any help

Kevin

after prolonged exposure to petrol, o rings do become brittle and can break up. a new o ring will be tighter, and will probably need a wipe with vaseline (stop laughing, it is petroleum jelly) to help get it to fit.

new o rings won't cost much from a Bosch fuel injection service agent (look in the yellow pages)

o rings r pennies!
if u have trouble finding o rings, go 2 a hydraulics place, theyll defo have them! if not, they will b able 2 get them within the hr!
