Right:

Astra GTE 16v: group 15

Cav 2.0 16v: group 14 (other 2.0 are 12/23 group but not sure if they are XE engines etc)

Cally 2.0 16v: Group 14 with same as above

Carlton: did these have XE at any point........?

the 12/23 are the 2.0 8V and the 2.0 16v Turbo respectively


I dont think the insurance group of the car that donates the engine makes any difference, as otherwise you could claim your astra GTE had a cav GSI engine and gte a lower premium, even though they are identical, likewise putting a 405 1.9 in a 205 or whatever.

with some companys its the insurance group of the engine that counts, thats y i asked you see.......

17 seems about right, thats the same as my prelude.

I assumed that 23 was some new weird way of rating them that i didnt know about to be honest as 20 is highest group im aware of.
