a guy I know is getting intermittent starting issues with his 2001 Corsa.

He has changed the starter relay in the fuse board for one of either terminal 15 and terminal 15a and they each work for about 30 minutes. Then he has to keep swapping which realy he uses. none have blown and only work for a short period.

What are terminal 15 and 15a, any ideas about this or why its intermittent?

perhaps the starter is U/S?

you failed to mention that the starter was changed.

how can a relay last 30 mins when its only used for a few seconds during cranking?

Sorry, forgot about the starter change. My bad.

what I'm hearing from the guy is that he found two other relays in the fuse board that seem to have the same pin arrangement terminal 15 and terminal 15a, so he swapped them round. It cranks and run perfectly for around 30 mins but when he turns it off after that interval he has to swap the relays round again.

He couldn't find any info about what terminal 15 and 15a are.

What engine? They are common on crank sensors going causing intermittent starting? Any fault codes retrieved?

Would say crank sensor

When I used to work at Vauxhall, the early corsa c had an issue where the instrument cluster to plug connection would become poor. It would exhibit poor starting concerns. Simply packing the plug out to make a good connection would cure it.

Terminal 15 is commonly known as ignition switched battery voltage.

had this at work couple of times, the speedo/rev counter cluster is part of the immobiliser

on the back the plug is part of the dash so i normal use thin strips of thick double sided sticky tape to pack the plug out so it a tighter fit to the cluster
