Easiest way, take it to the powdercoaters.

I agree get it blasted and powder coated im getting all of my steeri g and suspension parts done over the wi ter

for what it costs in grinding discs/wheels paint/brushes thinners and time,its makes much more sense to get it powdercoated

Another for powder coating, best way.

But if you can't/dont want too. Use Wickes Direct to metal paint. Best stuff going.

Brush on? As their spray stuff is utter toss now.... That's why i use the Wickes Direct to Metal.

Very true, I wire wheeled off all the rust on mine myself and painted it, it took several days to do.

The only downside with powdercoat is if it gets chipped. If the metal corrodes where it has chipped off it can quickly spread under the powder coat and peel it all off.
Other than that it gives a good finish.

Same here,i would NEVER do that again hahaha

I started to do that, got about 30 seconds in and the wire wheel caught a corner and flung off and raveled up my t-shirt next to my nipple.

£20 had the beam and all the front suspension, driveshafts etc shot blasted locally ready for painting.

yes mate brush on stuff won it on ebay 1ltr of it delivered for a tenner, great stuff I went in to wicks to get some silver metal paint but it was 15 quid for a 700ml pot
