View Full Version : The replacement for my Nova

Didn't intend buying another heavily modified car to replace my Nova but that lasted all of a month or so.

Had a weekend down Essex way picking up my new car from a little island I never knew existed, Mersea.

Just totted up the receipts for this thing and it makes my Nova look cheap, car has had one owner from new and the receipts for mods come to more than £25k on top of the £18k purchase price. Couldn't resist buying something that someone else has wasted money on this time so I shouldn't need to do much.

There are a few things I want to do including putting a standard bonnet on to replace the carbon one and maybe getting the wheels done black but other than that I'm happy with it. I appreciate the kit and spoiler are an acquired taste.

Power is at the wheels.

Long drive back today and have realised the car is far too loud, must be getting old. Good fun though.

Rear bumper looks hideous!
But tbf thats all most people will see and flames flying out of the back, as not much will catch you with neigh on 300bhp!

Nice buy, charger must give it a awesome kick! Not a fan of the kit, like the spoiler tho. Nice brakes too.

Power still climbing at the limiter too??

I was just going to say that will...... that power graph is epic! It only drops off because they stopped revving it, dont they limit out at 9krpm?

What transmission losses is it on fwd 15% ish awesome power!

Don't tend to rev them past 8700rpm without an oil pump change so thats where limiter is. They raised it to 9k and it was still making power but not worth the risk. Strange to drive as its just such smooth power delivery, almost like NA.

A mate is after a carbon bonnet for his type r that shape. Let me know what you want for it and I will let him know mate.

Only just seen this and desperate to get rid but distance will be a problem as don't fancy posting it.

Had it remapped at TDI North today and the car feels so much better despite not making mega power figures. Got torque steer like in the Nova now. Car was majorly over fuelling and ignition was being pulled out far too much.

Todays results were 308bhp and 200ft/lb with intake temps at 70+ degrees. Unfortunately we have blown the baffles in the rear silencer so it sounds dreadful now, new exhaust next.

Thats awesome power..
I remember when I got my nova mapped, the manifold was touching part of the roller frame and once it was glowing orange it started to burn all the paint off the frame, smelt awful, and it blew most the baffles out as well lol must be common?

My brother had an EP3 with the same kit, Utter animal of a car - However it was a little more subtle looking than this ;)

The supercharger kits on these works perfectly and they are so useable as a daily car.

Yeah I bet that engine feels strong; like the body or not, it's going to produce some considerable downforce.

Any idea what you would want for it as he might be up for a road trip.

Finally got rid of the bonnet. Was meant to be swapping with a grey bonnet I would have to get sprayed but then at the last minute got offered a silver one that had recently been painted. Took a punt on the colour match and it doesn't seem to bad. Looks out in some lights but so does every other silver Civic on google images. Must be the difference in the angle between bonnet and wings and how the light hits it.

Looks alot nicer with the Silver bumper.

I have http://www.weatherstop.co.uk, does exactly what it's supposed to do. You get it cheaper on eBay.

I've tried something similar that fits to the bottom of the door and it's done absolutely nothing.

Think digging a channel is the only way I'm going to stop it as the drive goes downhill slightly.

Keif

That's why I went for something that fits to the floor. Door shuts against it and seals again rain and leaves etc.

Saying that if it's down hill, Channel in front of the door and this behind it. Job jobbed!
