Anyone know how I can repair a break in the circuit??

That break to be precise. Unsure how it happened I've had these clocks for ages.

Also note that soldering it is a right bitch. The circuit just doesn't want to take to the solder. So I've stopped before I damage it any further.

use something like [this] (http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_20 3667_langId_-1_categoryId_255229)

I think Maplin do a pen you can use too.

Or I've found one fixed with a wire soldered to the board before.

Maplins are stupidly expensive. I had a go at the soldering lark but I couldn't get it to solder properly so I stopped before I damaged it too much further. When I've got some cash I'll try mikes repair idea and see what's what. Worst case scenario means I'll just have to buy a new set of clocks lol.

Try using soldering flux, it's cheap and the lets the solder run a lot easier so would be a doddle

I soldered one with no problems just make sure your wire to replace the break isn't too thick or it takes a lot more heat

I was advising Millworm about this on Facebook the other day, look it up and see what I said.
Or
Drop it off to me sometime and I'll repair it for you, won't take a few minutes.

I would Dan but I have no fuel to get to you. Thankfully I start my new job on monday, so eventually I shall be able to do more things. Did you manage to find that alternator?
