Ok it's a mk 1 Sr loom g reg with mk2 clocks they have been joined about 4 inches from the mk2 plug.
Problem is when ignition is on so is the indicator light, it flashes when the stalk is turning left bit just stays on when turning right although the lights outside are flashing.
I have changed the relay and that's no different any idea's please

When you have them out have a look on the back of them, they have a plastic printed circuit, it might be broken or corroded.

Thanks for replies found it
mk2 wire is black for os and indicator wire for os is black/green on the loom so previous wireing was connected to ignition live, quick swop over and all good.

I have another interesting problem that it's making me worry alot.
The problem is that when I turn on the hazard switch it works perfectly, but the indicators don't.
What do you think is the problem? the FLasher Unit Relay is new, do you think that the hazard switch is faulty?
