Just picked up some early 6 dial clocks for the nova and want to wire in the oil pressure, got a pressure sender on order from my motor factors and just wondered where it goes (engine is a 1.2 carb). Am I right in saying it replaces the oil pressure switch? Also what wiring is required to make it all work? I did check the old Haynes manual but wan't much of a help. Thanks millworm

It goes in where you thought, one connection will be for the original wire and oil light, you might have to change it to a spade connection. Depending on what wiring your car has, some have the additional wire sitting loose in the engine bay for the other pin on the sender (oil pressure gauge), you'll know if there is the spare spade connector behind the dash, then the same colour should be in the engine bay, close to the one for the oil light.

If there isn't, it is straight forward, basically a wire from the sender to the extra spade on the back of the dash at the oil pressure gauge. YOu'll know if the oil light and pressure gauge connections are the wrong way round, they will be wrong!

On the Nova loom there's a round push on terminal rather than a spade, isn't there?

The style of sensor looks like the Vauxhall style, so if it says it fits a Nova go for it.
