View Full Version : Wiper/washer stalk help
So on my new nova the right hand wiper/washer jet stalk is slightly broken so the previous owner had it converted so now there is a button just under the steering wheel that is meant to power the washer jets however it no longer works.
My question is, does anybody know how to convert it back to the stalk and what I would need as its left me abit clueless?
I imagine I would need a new stalk but how would I convert it back?

you will have to look at the wiring, hopefully they never cut the stalk plug(s) off but you show see new wire going to button so just follow it back and see where he cut original loom and re join it back, it would be better with pics of the wiring
I haven't had too much of a look at it yet tbh but once I have I'll have a proper look and get some pics. Surely if he had cut the wiring I could just connect it straight back up to the plug? If that makes sense

Im guessing your will get a stalk from the scrappy. When you do just cut the plug off with it and leave a nice amout of wire on it. Then just join the wires back colour to colour.
Corsa b stalks fit the nova too and I think they look a bit better
Thanks mate, that seems like the best solution. There is bound to be scrappy near me with a nova in it

Mate, by the time you turned your computer on and posted on here you could have pulled the stork off and had a look lol
you can take the black cover off with out taking the steering wheel off, (will be a bit tight) and the. See whats going on. If you have a mk2 if you take the speedo out you could have a proper look at the wiring. (If they have put the switch near the fuse box. Either way we are guessing its the stalk thats broken and you need one anyway.

he mite of just scotch locked the new switch which will be even easier but as lee said you gotta look at it to see whats up, as you do see some terrible wiring in the motor trade especially if it a quick mot bodge that kinda become a permanent fix lol
