Hey as some of you may of seen i recently got a nova with a redtop conversion, having driven it and getting a few wobbles and knocks when turning i investigated today and found that the left drive shaft is not the right one and too short, can literally pull and push it from the gearbox so someone obviously hasn't put the right ones on.

So my question is what's the best one's for it?

Thanks
Adam

I don't see how they can be too short, but what gear box and hubs is the car running ?

Has a f20 box in bud, not sure on the hubs all he said was 2l brakes and hubs.
Just had a look and easiest option for me is gte shafts on mk2 cav inner cv's

But i still dont know how the driveshaft could move that much easy about 3-4 inch of play

well, the tiny wire clip on the inner end might not be locating in the diff, this will make it move loads... 3-4 inches is possibly an exageration though,

Chances are it is already on GTE shafts with Mk2 Cav inner CV joints, so as above the shaft can't be too short as there are arn't any shorter GM shafts than a Nova's. Either circlip not located properly or CV joint(s) absolutely ****ed

Ok cheers mate, will wip the driveshaft off tomorrow and have a look at it, if it's just the circlip then be laughing :) lol

When it was built it had 22 spline shafts but your talking 7 years so could be on new set up

Ahh so do you know much about the build that was done on this car?
I had a look at shafts and they where fine didnt move when jacked up i think cause the car is so low and the camber hasnt been sorted out when its on the ground its pulling the shaft away abit so giving loads of play. gonna sort the camber out and go from there

You are gonna want to put some gearbox oil in as well if the cv hasnt been in the box properly

The cv is in fine, it's the actual shaft that moves within the cv's
