Swapped this for a project bike i was doing. I lost out but needed a car.
It's a nova sri with gsi bodykit on and has a c20xe engine in.
Few things need doing like, needs windscreen as it has a crack (anyone got one for sale), sunroof leaks (think the guy has put in wrong one or not fitted it right as its raised at the front).
Checked the whole shell and only 2 small patches need a plate welding not a big deal as rest of the shell is solid.
Going to change orange strip on bumper for red, get rid of the tacky white paint in the corners of the rear window surrounds, gonna remove the engine and spray the engine bay so it looks clean then tidy up all the wiring and pipes, spray the spark plug cover white with red lettering, polish the head cover, polish the power cap, spray strut brace red and few more bits red in the bay like oil cap and red silicone hoses. (going for the white and red theme if you haven't guessed lol)
Going to get rid of the daft bonnet pins aswell i think they look crap and let the car down, can't decide on the bonnet vents yet sometimes i like them sometimes i hate them lol.

While im at it im going to replace track rod ends, suspension top mounts, wishbones, lower arms, brakes and pads and a full coilover kit as needs lifting a little on the front as it rubs slightly, more noticeable on full lock.

Anyway enough of me waffling here she is

Spent today tidying up alot of wiring................what a bloody bodge job someone has done on it, all the wires were just twisted together and taped up and alot not even with insulation tape :O.
So redid them all properly with solder and heatshrink :)
There was also quite a few bare wires :S which was worrying so capped them off until i work out what they are for.
The stereo wiring was the worse, what looked like masking tape was used to cover the twisted wires haha, the front speaker wires were cut from the stereo loom and connected to car loom!!! :S, why not just re-connect them to the car loom so you dont have to cut the stereo loom *FACEPALM* oh and the 2 front speakers were running off one speaker output. No wonder it sounded **** hahaha, all sorted now though.
Hopefully picking up a un-cracked windscreen from L33 LEG when i have the cash so get that wacked in.

Noticed some knocking when turn the steering so going to investigate that (hope its not the cv joint)

Sorry didn't get any pics of the dangerous shocking wiring, was too busy trying to sort it out lol

But i did give her a clean :)

Looks a really nice car, great buy! Can't beat a white gsi on speedlines with red pinstripes :) I'll keep an eye on this, just spend time tidying things up and it'll end up to be a perfect nova.

Ill keep that windscreen to one side for you.

Going to try find some black and red seats and doors cards aswell, also wanting a black gsi dash and black a and b pillars.
Will look top notch when its done.
I had no choice but to seal the sunroof today though, leaking like made and ruining the interior, i think the guy has either put the wrong glass in or wrong rubber and being short on money sealing was the quickest way to stop it soaking the seats and carpet and rotting the insides lol, i never use sunroofs anyway and was thinking of welding it up when it comes time for a bare shell respray :)

The rear plate needs straightened lol

The guy had stook it on with a piece of double sided haha, its loose so i need to fit it properly

That's my ex wife's old car. Was stills 1.4 when we had it it had only just had full paintjob and the gsi kit just before I bought her it. Lad round corner got off her when we parted. He xe,d it badly. Wiring was a mess. It changed hands local few times then went up scotlandand seemed to be for sale every other month on gumtree. Looked at it at Pvs this year and it looks to be a different xe now and resprayed again. Too

Yeah apart from the 2 patches that need welding the shell is ok, but as you said the wiring is a complete mess i have spent quite a few hours trying to sort it all out. It's a shame what some people do to these cars it's not hard to do a neat job of wiring lol.
Don't worry it wont be going anywere for a while now, its had 15 owners before me so has been passed around quite a bit.
Planning on doing a bare shell clean up and respray at a later date and might get a uncut loom for the engine and dash so i can do it all properly.
The paint job that's been done on it since isn't the best and has a few runs and orange peel so it will be getting 2000 wet sanded down and buffed up with g3 compound.

At least the one good thing is the engine is solid and runs bang on lol

Aye the paint job when we had it was a better. Cos lad that done it all worked in body shop. Sun roof used to leak like **** too but apart from that it was a really good car.The 1400. That was in it was a lively little thing used to go to limiter in 5th easy lol

Been trying to work out why the central locking wasn't working today, and i could also hear a buzzing sound for a few seconds while ignition was off.
I traced the buzzing to the passenger foot well and found the central locking relay which was red hot and hissing when i moved it, i managed to get it off and it was full of water. This could be the problem for the battery draining over night aswell as it was trying to engage the central locking but just shorting out im lucky it didn't set off fire.
While i was in the footwell i noticed another patch that will need welding in.
I also fitted some corsa indicator and wiper stalks :)

Pic of the relay you can see the water damage, anyone know where i can get one?

Sorted out the central locking today, managed to get a relay from a guy on here can't remember what he said his user name is but he has a red k reg nova and a corsa with a c20let running 600bhp :O
Put the new relay in and still not working so i investigated, turned out some idiot had chopped the passenger door solenoid wires *DOH* im thinking because the relay was full of water and shorting out it must of kept opening and un opening the door why they didn't just take the relay off i do not know lol.

Took a few pics in daylight today :)

Cheers bud, interior is going to get stripped out over this week ready for the welding to be done on weekend, then putting new windscreen in and fitting an alarm.
The roof lining is a bit manky too and has some rips so going to get some cloth to make one myself, dash is going to go black aswell as the pillars so thinking black roof lining with red stitching as im wanting to get black and red seats and door cards.

Engine and bay will get tidied up soon after i do all this, also picking up some coilovers and a cam belt cover next month for it..

All's i need now is a gsi towing eye cover

Got a few things done to car today, unfortunately i forgot to take pictures lol.
Fixed the horn (someone hadn't wired it right and hadn't connected the wire at back of steering wheel)
Fixed the fuel leak, could smell petrol when stationary and found out it was the fuel line going to the fuel rail so sorted that out
The back box was blowing very bad and effecting the performance of the car so took it off and noticed it was nearlly in 2 pieces, the pipe at the back of back box had snapped so instead of spending money i welded it back up and good as new now :)
I also welded up the exhaust bracket which attaches to the car, it had snapped off previous to me owning the car so exhaust is now help up properly without cable ties haha.

Next job is weld the plates in the footwell's, weld the left rear inner sill (small plate), 2000grit wet sand the whole car and g3 polish it up, then its tidy up the engine bay :)

Getting the slowly

P.S while im in doncaster next month im picking up some coilovers, a gsi sunroof and hopefully a cambelt cover for the xe if gibbo gets back to me lol

Right not very happy at the moment went to tax the car online last night and said my car was not taxed.
So did a bit of digging and checked mot history, no current mot from 2013 to 2014, so today i rang vosa gave them the mot test number on the mot cert i have with the nova details on turns out the cert i have is for a saxo :@ fraudulent mot.
Have got the police involved and are coming round tomorrow, going to ask the garage across the road nicely to have a quick look over the car and tell me what it will fail on so i can sort it out before i get them to mot it.

Not a happy bunny

Well police came today took a full statement and said it looks as though the mot cert has been photoshopped so the guy is in alot of trouble, he also advised me to have the car mot'd and if it fails to have a list of failures and quote on how much repairs will be as i have grounds to sue him.
