earth straps broken engine block to alternator one..

guys i have a 1.0 mk1 nova and i am sorting out a lot of things the previous didnt do, i noticed today that the earth strap from the block to the alternator is broken and just loosly tied to the alternator bracket, could this be the cause of it being a complete pain to sometimes start? i will order a new one in pronto anyway and charge up the battery just to be sure.

depends what you mean by 'pain to start' if its cranking over dead slow it could be the alternator failing to charge the battery fully.

it was put there for a reason so replace it and see if it solves the issues.
