Hi all, I havnt poosted much on here for a while, but im still busy working on my nova in the garage, ill get a projects thread up soon(ish). its come to the point now where its pretty much ready for primer, the thing holding me back at the moment is styling. with my old nova a gsi i felt limited to the things i could do with it as i think the body work/styling of any rarer model should be left mainly standard.
as the project im working on at the moment is a 1.2spi i feel i can do what i like to it, but thats turning out to be the problem lol.
if you had a totally blank canvas what would your car look like?
as it stands mine is like this
mk2
de-wipered rear
gsi front bumper
obligatory speedlines
gsi window surrounds
all red rear lights.
the things im undecided about is to
what colour? (im pretty much decided on red)
de-lock it?
colour coded bumpers? or contrasting grey same as the wheels?
colour coded door handles? depending on bumper colour?
isuzu trooper vent? (very 90's (90@s) but i quite like it tbh)
manta 500 eaglemann style mirrors?
gsi sideskirts? (as i already have these stashed away some where)
the list goes on and on.
any ideas or opinions appreciated.

i wouldn't bother with the second list personally. sounds like its cool already. save your Wonga for some go faster :thumb:
Why run on speedlines? Why not go for something different?
Handle and skirts need to be different colours to break it up.
Deffo de-lock. Tidies the doors up.
I do like the Manta mirrors, they are a lil diff a not many people use them now.
Stay red.
Bonnet vent could look nice, maybe moc it up.
Bumper... Tricky. You know i love a grey bumper... But red ones can look nice too...
Red with black bumpers skirts wheels and handles with the mirrors red aswell! Trooper vent will look ace but I would say that as I have one lol a set of speedline misrals would be a subtle change to allessios then just dump a v6 in it=perfect

Red car, dark grey bumpers and skirts, standard wing mirrors with carbonfibre covers, white Compomotive MO alloys and then window surrounds and pillar vinyls :thumb:;)
Oh and standard rear lights...red ones look cack IMO

No pictures really as its pretty much a stripped shell so nothing really to look at. It's black at the moment but will not be keeping it black as its a total pain and tbh I'm not 100% keen on it.
I've got the speedlines to go on benn as I manged to get them off a mate fairly cheap. My first choice of wheels would be the race line rl7's that are currently in the for sale thread but tbh I don't have £300 to spend on another set of wheels.
Umm I'm really not sure on the bonnet vent I like them personally but wouldn't want people saying it looked ****e.
Umm so many choices as to what to make it look like. It's all tough decisions that are going have to be made sooner or later.

Id like a white perfect shell with rusty rear arches , doors and wings airbrushed on
When I decieded to change my silver mk2, I quickly and cheaply converted it to a Mk1 and aerosoled on rough sport graphics to see if I liked the look. Love it so have bought the proper graphics and when I have the time I will do all the conversion and get it painted properly.
I suppose what I am saying is have some fun experimenting before you do the proper primer etc, see how far you want to go!

See if John would swap wheels... You never know.
It's all up to you, look at photos are other red Novas for some hint and that to help you make your mind up.

Personally i liked my old track cars theme, but if was to re spray it i often thought of keeping the bumpers grey but painting the body either that apple mettalic on old audi a4's and micras, or ford Olympic blue.
Personally i think red with dark bumpers is a bit common now, karl rowntree, nick j, simps, liam polton to name a few.
Just my opinion dude.
Scott.

All opinions welcomed mate. Umm its a tuff 1 my mate came up to the garage for a brew last night n he was stumped on how he'd style it. It's a hard decision.
I loved the colour of your old track car Scott. Think with the graphics on as well it looked proper!!!
