The ad goes like this

Welcome to my listing for my C20xe / let bottom end.
The engine block has been bored out to 2.1 and has the forged oversized pistons fitted.
There was an extensive rebuild around 1000miles ago in which the crank had work done to it, new bearings, pumps etc.
I used this engine in my opel manta and it made around 170hp on standard injection.
Comes with all pumps, pulleys etc.
Only selling as I now need the space in my workshop.
I also have a ported and polished coscast head that has had 3 angled valve seats cut, freshly rebuilt, please ask for details.
Would sell together and could also build a complete engine if needed.
Postage is only an estimate but I can provide a postage quote upon request and can put on a pallet or load if you would care to collect.

What's your budget? Pm if like. For starters it doesnt say bore size. Not 1k miles old looking at oil/coke on pistons crowns, little in way of hone marks and look very much standard pistons and you would of had block decked(skimmed) that doesn't look like its had anything.

A real 2.1 needs 88mm pistons which are either high comp(intruder) crown or flat top, standard oem pistons have that dish in. Avoid imo.

If want to pm budget, could possibly suggest something that would be suitable and if good on spanners, save yourself labour costs.

My early 20XE with an ecu chip runs 170bhp... well, 169 to be exact from the RR printout.

Pistons £187?? Bargain! It depends how cheap it is - its worth a punt for £100

As above 86.5mm does not make 2.1

I would put my money on the seller being clueless, and simply selling a half stripped XE which has failed at some point and been rebuilt.

£100 would be my bid if I wanted it.

remember, oversize pistons will not necessarily be a performance enhancement..
