Right hi all
I've just put an e16se in me nova with a c14se inlet manifold and managment from an astra
I used autodata for the wiring diagrams (not much to connect)
So on with ignition fuel pump primed but wouldn't start , quickly traced to moody wiring where the crank sensor plugs in (loom side) so soldered in another and she fired straight up and runs well
But now the pump doesent prime until cranking
Scanned with my snap on solus ultra no faults and all data looks good
Any ideas ?????

Just out of curiosity, why run a 1.6 on the fueling and timing for a 1.4?

The pump only primes on cranking... I have a c14se in my nova from a corsa b.

I wouldn't want to get that under any kind of load... Lean and melts pistons ahoy

Bazil just using what I had laying around and Stuart it won't melt pistons the fuelling is controled very well

If the fuelling is setup for a 1400 then it can be as accurate as you like but if its on a 1600 bottom end it's going to be wrong. Plain and simple.

Ok Stuart appreciate what your sayin but the fuelling is controled by tps and MAP sensors and further fine adjustment via the 02 sensor when engine is at operating tempreture
Appears to cope well has done 300+ miles and after a flat in 5th for 4 miles the plugs indicate to be running very well so I'm not concerned

Fair enough, but you do know its not closed loop when over about 75% throttle and relying on the map and tps is a gamble at best. I'd be looking at the duty cycle of the injectors for sng as when the air gets colder you might find problems where the pulses simply don't get any longer.

Iv got a nova Sri 1.4 head on a 1.6 bottom end and its starts straight away and runs, but it's an unfinished project, it's running the Ecu for the head and when I tried a 1.6 Ecu it didn't work so swooped the chips and it still didn't work, unsure if the Ecu and chip was broke, it runs rich and a bit smoky with noisy lifters
