Hi all ok so it's not technically a nova but it is related in away. I'm sorry to say I bought my first ever Corsa but in all fareness it was a bargain I couldn't really let slip.
A Corsa c sri came up for sale locally listed as needing a crank sensor and air bag ecu but was at a stupid low price so I thought I would take a look.
After a quick HPI check at work all was fine and we set off.
When we got there we where very surprise to see it was as tidy as the pics made it look and nothing that a good scrub down and hover at work wouldn't fix.
As said it had the listed 2 faults and also needs a ac compressor but I've sourced one for a later date.
It also came with tax/mot and a full Vauxhall service history and is only on 87k
So we haggled a bit and got him to drop from £550 ( which I would of paid) down to £450 happy days.
Yesterday I got a replacement crank sensor and air bag ecu and fitted (£25 for both) and is now running sweet as.
Today it's in for its mot at work and a bloody good valet as that's what I do for Mercedes Swindon.
Please don't hate me to much but at lease I've stuck with me vauxhalls just a bit newer for Kieran's safety.
Hope you like.

If its the x18xe1 then your laughing, as mines nipy enough in my Astra, i wouldn't say no at that price either, but bit small for practicality..

Not the easiest conversion to do on the 1.8 though.

I'm happy with it as it is. I'm giving it a service and belt change next month. It's over £200 a year less than the coupe to insure and £100 year less to tax so happy days.
As for practicality this is are little run about as we have a big car but saving for a crv at the mo.

Elsie drove it for the first time last night as she wouldn't when it was playing up (before new parts where fitted). She has now said she's taking it to work. I know of only 1 car park dink in the drivers door so we will see how it is when she brings it back.
Poor thing.

We had a low millage Vectra c 1.8 get traded in at work so I asked if I could move some engine bits across to see if I could sort a coil pack fault out. Now as I've only had the car 6 days I've not had chance to service it yet but once I removed the coil pack I noticed the the plugs seamed very loose so while at it i thought I would check them only to find out that 2 of the plugs where missing there electrodes. So over to the Vectra I went and borrowed the coil pack and plugs and moved all my old bits across result. The Vectra still runs and mine now goes like a scolded cat.
I will fit new plugs when I do the oil filter plug and belt change next month.
I love it as its so much nicer to drive now.

They're quick cars in standard form, a few handling mods and the jobs done for a road car IMO.

It's on irmscher springs and dampers with drilled and grooved discs front and rear. It's like a little roller skate. I love it even more now it goes so much better.

I'm thinking about an adjustable rear anti roll bar. Is it a white line one or something like that.

Whiteline are the ones to get, there maybe a similar one but not sure. LMF do them new but ain't cheap:

Today consided of fitting my hands free kit and my kenwood DVD head unit. All was going well and all I had to do was apply some double sided tape to the buton and stick it down.
As I was cutting the edges of the tape to make it look neat I cut through the bloody wire.
So out came the soldering iron and re soldered the wire onto the switch and stuck it down. All done and working. I also fit a piper x induction kit to it yesterday.
