Hi. Does any one know if you can get a cool running thermostat for 1.6 gte thanks dan

No & why would you want to. A cool running stat can often keep the engine from switching to the hot running map which means you get poor economy as well as bore wash & excessive engine wear. The std item is fine, especially in Buckinghamshire/UK.

Years ago people used to drill a small hole in the stat diaphragm, or leave it out altogether.

if your cooling system is struggling to dissipate heat to 89deg then it will struggle to drop it lower than that with a cooler thermostat.

if you must, you can fit the one from the astra 1.6 diesel, but get your cooling system flushed out properly & fit a new std stat first.

Dont bother waste of time and money stick with your std stat

It all just points at a problem elsewhere.
Blocked heater matrix or knackered radiator.

We don't even know why he's asked about one....

Regardless, engines are supposed to be a bit hot so a cool stat just drops it outside of its efficiency window
