First post on here so hi guys I'm Sean and I'm from Dumfries. I'm am apprentice mechanic and I bought a mk2 Sx back in April from Manchester and I love it, sat at an easy 9* mph on the way up the road and only used half a tank (£20) of fuel. only a 1.2 spi but bloody hell it's fun! It's my second car and I much prefer it to the Clio I had as my first car. Bought it standard, since then I've put a sportex cat back exhaust system on with a home made decatl and it sounds amazing lol, have a 1.6 throttle body with standard 1.2 injector at the moment with corsa top box and piper cross air filter, got cheap Jom coil overs which are sh** but do the job to an extent, and just bought a set of cesaros off here for £90 delivered which was a steal. Pictures to follow, planing on a 1.6 spi inlet manifold and 1.4 injector, then 4 branch sportex exhaust manifold and decat. Then a gte cam if I can find one cheap enough should hopefully get her a little nippier and before anyone says it I know it'll never be "fast" but it should make it less painfully slow.
What she looked like when I bought her

A picture someone had taken at the Lanarkshire petrolheadz summer cruise a week back, I like this picture!

Finally a picture that has both my Novas in, I bought k133rhs as a shell needing a lot of work done, welding and what not its in pieces but my best mate is a good welder so I made him a deal that if he bought a welder he could have joint ownership in the car when we go to sell it once its built up and on the road again! It's an Sri shell with a 20ne 2.0 8valve ready to drop in. Supposedly a stupidly quick nova when it used to roam the streets down this way. Ill make another thread for the progress on it once we get started on it.

Looks in pretty good condition mate, especially the paint work as flame red tends to fade badly

Been a long time since I last updated, some kind fellow has keyed right down the left hand side of my car. But good news is I have a 1.4 sr engine to drop into her next spring. Mot expires in November so that's an excuse for me to bring her off the road for the winter and get everything ready to put the other engine in. I'm going down the bike carb route and will be putting a 1.2 carb head onto the 1.4. And I'm planning to get her resprayed at some point next year but not changing the colour, cesaros will be going star silver too! Looks like I'm going to be busy over the winter lol

Quick update on progress. As of tomorrow my 1.2 carb head will be going into t.j. McKeands engine re conditioners to be ported, polished and skimmed ready for fitting to my 1.4 sr bottom end. I have a piper bp300 cam and irmscher cathedral port inlet manifold to fit my dellorto twin 40's to. The money I've spent by now I'd probably have been cheaper red topping it but at 18 there's no chance I could insure a red top conversion and I wouldn't want to risk getting my car impounded for the sake of the insurance being void. I'm looking to get at least 90-100bhp at the flywheel with this engine which I'd be more than happy with! Anythings better than a 45bhp spi engine surely lol.
