Just fitted a c16xe to autograss nova.
Fitted correct loom with large ecu.
Not sure about the 9 wires that are near the ecu main connections.
(The block connection is missing/cut off)
Red, black x2, red/blue (thick and thin) brown/white, green.
Brown/blue and brown yellow.
What is vss? And I read about a wire to the gearbox.
I've got the fuel pumping and a spark but still a bad starter/ runner.
Maybe cam/crank sensor fault.
Any info would be good.
Thanks

Red is permanent live
Black is switched live
Thick red/blue is fuel pump
Thin red blue is vss
Brown/blue is ecu light
Green is rev counter
The vss is a plug that goes into the speedo pick up point on the gear box it basically lets the ecu know the cars moving. With out this it will stall every time you come to a stop. This won't stop it starting though.

Do I need any other wires connected.
Eg, brown/yellow.. The blue wire from the temp sensor.. Does this need to be connected in any way.. Bare in mind its a stock car and at this moment I don't have a temp gauge fitted but I do plan to get one fitted eventually.
Thanks.

Thanks.
I don't have usual ecu/chip set up on this c16xe loom.
This has the large ecu (standard)
It's a autograss stock car so I don't have a dash etc.
Out of the 9 usual wires..
Do I only need the red,(live) black (switch live) and red/blue (fuel pump)
Is it essential to have the...blue (temp) brown/yellow (ecu/light). Red/blue thin wire (vss) all connected just to get the engine running.
Thx
i think the vss wire is necessary, but the temp & ecu ones aren't. but i'd say its rather useful to rig up a small light & a triggering switch just so you can find out what's wrong if the engine starts running funny... efi is just too complex to fix without an EML flashing codes for you
