Been looking on migweb at the conversion but people are saying different things about the conversion, just want to know what I need with mounts etc, been looking at griffin mounts and people seem to be going with them.

My question is what all is needed exactly? lol New to all this so go easy on me. also is there v6 conversion threads on here, thanks jamie

No idea what griffin mounts are, but if they're not metalastic then filling them with PU adhesive will be worthwhile.

Get a dummy layshaft from a Calibra, run equal length big block (custom made) shafts and get your steering knuckles machined for the larger VW bearings so the drive flanges don't have to be turned down wafer thin.

Dave Dixon should be able to sort you out with all the parts you need.

Griffin autosport is Dave Dixon and the mount will be fine

And to say what you will need we would need a little more info

What car are you converting if a nova what model

Its a 1988 mk1, not a common conversion so abit afraid going ahead with it

The hardest bit is the rear manifold. Needs to be chopped and welded to miss the steering rack.

Equal length shafts need a spacer iirc and there not avaliable from griffin last time i asked

Do you really need to run ELS though? Aren't normal GTE's ones man enough?

its probably cos the v6 comes with it already on.

I'd just say go for it matey, iv just completed my v6 conversion with some advice of the guys on here and my old man,

Other than that iv had ZERO experience in conversions before at all. Just dove in head first and it works :D

Engines not turned out to bad just needs some finishing touches.

And as for the manifold I cut and spun mine then welded an Astra vxr flange on

Just clears the rack but on the few test runs iv done seems fine,

And the wiring side of things scared the **** out of me at first but its actually really simple lol
