Its all steel (kidde crank ,Arrow rods )2.1, engine builders spec pistons and a judd profile cams ,dry sumped on slide throttle injection and motec ecu .
His engine dyno is not a quote you happy dyno so figures are not jaw dropping but it is one of the most powerfull 2.1 ,s he has built ,it made 244bhp and 161lb ft ,Power was still climbing at 8600 but he didnt want to kill it on his dyno

i'm still proud just how many fast engines have [arrow] parts made in hinckley.

that is proper power though, to drag an escort about you need proper grunt & that engine should provide it.

[factoid] the yb was actually originally designed as N/A, and cosworth actually did sell some n/a versions.

This car has an engine built by the same engine builder ,his made a bit more torque http://cdn.speedhunters.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Maidstone-Ford-Escort-26.jpg,but mine made a bit more power

i remember seeing a mk2 escort at mallory back in the late 80's that was entered by ht. it had every colour panel on it & some sort of body kit, and it was pulling away from a cosworth sierra at a might rate of knots until it overcooked it at the devils elbow & met the barriers near race control...

My engine won the vecta series in the early 90,s when Darren Dowling had it,Ht,s build a fantastic engine its just the lead times ,mine took over 3 years to get rebuilt:eek:

Immense! Has a different note of any C20XE too; maybe because of no butterflies on intake?

Now that's an Escort!

Adrians escort is pretty special ,lots of carbon panels and very light ,allegedly does brands indy in 50 secs

Got to love the sound of that engine. They are very into the slide throttle at HT aren't they ?

Aaron makes his own slide throttle but i bought mine as the wait to have some made would have been a nightmare
,i was at Goodwood spectating and there was a sierra on slide throttle ,the noise it made pulling out of the pits was immense ,so from the on mine was going on slides ,plus they are a bit more period then say jenveys

I am not sure James ,i bought it second hand ,it needed a bit of work to get right ,Aaron thinks the trumpets are off a dfv ,they are possibly a bit short which i think is where i lose out on torque, but it seems to work and it idles nicely which is apparently hard to achieve with slides
