My corsa b 1.2 16v decided yesterday to have a bit of a fit and blow the head gasket (haven't dared take the head off yet..)

The main problem I'm having is: do i
a) repair the 1.2 and hope for the best
b) repair the 1.2 and get shot of it
c) 1.6 16v or 1.6 8v conversion
d) attempt to gather around £800 and buy my brothers 1990 Eunos Roadster from him

As I havent looked at the 1.2 yet i dont know if it is worth fixing, but this is assuming it is..
I'm short on cash, mainly from discovering how useful it is to be a member of the AA, and go on holiday on wednesday so I'm going to sort it when i get back home.
but any advice will be appreciated!

I find that particular engine to be particularly prone to overheating, and once they have overheated they often crack the head or warp it badly as its awful quality casting.

Option b and d for me too.

Option B. D is :gay: lol

failing to see how driving round in a 2 seater rwd at 21 is gay but each to their own!

browsing cars for sale is making me tempted, for example a cav sri on 89k for £500 is too tempting

I'm just joking mate :)

On a serious note theres always lots of cheap cars going about, just get one that suits your needs. £500 for a cav seems a not bad deal.

Bodge and flog.

I also fail to see how a purpose-built, light, agile, RWD sports car is anything but great.

This. Although we are both north eastern cowboys (him more so)

They do look a little bit girly but I've read many manly men say they're gay/poofters cars etc etc then drive one and change their mind, I have never driven one so cant comment on what they're like to drive but if they're light, agile and fun, **** what other people think. Didn't they also come with a 1.6 16v or is that the newer versions only? I have no idea myself!

just cos some fat b4stard decides a fun little sportscar is a 'hairdressers car' hasn't managed to stop the mx5 being the worlds best selling sportscar.... it happens to have styling that harks back to the lotus elan, but manages to add reliability.... its a no brainer.

HEY! There's nothing wrong with being fat!

I don't think I personally could live with one as a daily, but like I said I've never had one. Never even been in one tbh been in an S2000 which was good.
