Mk1 Stalk Wiring Blocks

Im reshelling my rally car and went to swop the dash and indicator/wiper stalks/ headlamp switch and find the electric block connectors on the back of switches are different, both cars are/were the same year, why are the looms different? .. both were 1.2 base model Merits...
Gonna have to get the soldering iron out me thinks...:roll:
Any other differences in the loom am i likely to find??

I found this on my B reg nova saloon, the plug connectors for the stalks were different from any other I'd seen. I assume that early novas had a loom different from later cars.
You could either solder in new plugs or crimp on spade terminals, although soldering a plug is the better option.

Im guessing one of them is an early mk1, the very early ones that have the two speed fan switch have a slightly different switch set on the dash, this 'should' be the only differences you find i think!

Im now cutting and soldering blocks, wiring colours are the same, straight forward, just a pain in the backside.....
