Did VW do any VW Crafters in Silver? I dented the works van the other day and I'm curious to know if they did these vans in silver as you can see the bare metal/primer/white/possibly more primer/silver. I see these Crafter's EVERYWHERE but I've never seen a silver one.

It might be a VW silver (seen plenty silver Transporters) but if it never started life out silver it wont have the code on the VIN plate or where ever.

most get done in white rust attracting paint, just like the sprinters that are made in the same factory.. its down to the selling dealer to sort out the colours.

easiest way to find out is to ring a vw dealer with the reg and they will tell you the factory colour. i work in a paint shop and supply to a local bodyshop that just does van and ive done quite a few silvers on crafters. usual colour is la7w - reflex silver.

I haven't seen many white Crafter's either (seen more white than silver lol) most the ones I've seen are multi coloured for the business that uses them.

It might be that la7w then Rob, thanks for that I'll have a deeks see what I can find out.

Seen a silver one today, at Nevilles Cross/Langley Moor. Was it you, mate?
I was driving the black RS1600i.

Brainsnova - its a works van which was bought waaaaaaay before I joined the company and he bought a Crafter as they're more high brow than Transh!ts which every gypo wanna be and his staffy has had and I have to agree with his thinking they are a nice looking van, shame I can pick many faults with it.


Limp, err I cant remember seeing a black RS1600i(nnit) but I was delivering beer to St Mary's College on Elvet Hill Road today which is near The New Inn, did the van have Sonnet 43 Brew House signs on it?

Come to think of it I have seen one of them Escorts recently but I don't think it was today hmmm I was in a world of my own this morning so yesterday and today have kinda merged into one.

Dunno what it said on the side lol. Was too busy keeping an eye on the stop-start traffic, with it's 'interesting' brakes. lol

only cos they shut the factory in southampton & just build them all in turkey, as opposed to most of them in turkey.

Crafter's look nicer. Pretty **** van tbh although I've been in Transits and the build quality is ****e.
