Right,
Whilst stripping down my head/inlet I had a bit of an idea. Would it work if I used a 1400 MPI inlet manifold then instead of the TB made an adapter to fit a single 45?
Any reasons why this wouldn't work?
P.S. Road rally car so can't run twin 40s
Thanks in advance :thumb:
id keep the injection tbh

As above...but would a downdraught not be better? Im confused with how you are intending to mount it

Ok, i'm intending to make an adapter to fit onto where the throttle body fits on the manifold then fit a weber 45 onto the adapter

Ah right im with you. There will be a massive airflow restriction going into the manifold TBH I reckon it would be slower than standard so would stick with the injection

Ok, might just put a DGAS on it. The car is a carb model, I don't really fancy running standard injection and I don't have DTA/Omex deep pockets

What about a Weber twin choke carb or an SU carb?

Yeah, a weber 38 DGAS downdraught
Some cars in my class are doing that running a split weber on the injection inlet. Apparently they do something inside to make them work properly. Depending on spec I would try a 32\34. I think a DGAS will be too big and you loose low end tractability.

I like the idea of this peredur
whats the diameter of the mpi manifold opening ?
surely if you had a big enough carb to match that diameter, 48 or 50?, then pissed about with the fuel jettng to suit... in theory it would work wouldn't it ?
you'd need to roughen the inside surface of the manifold too, sandblast might be good for getting down those long legs.
what do people do to plug the injector holes ?
