whilst browsing ebay for a dual stage boost controller, I came across a german seller selling the same product as the turbosmart one but at a fraction of the cost.

the casing/writings the same and all the accessories you get (have seen these on another site), would you take the chance? for the damage it can do it would be wise to get the proper thing, my luck it is the same internals...

Personally NO. If it all goes POP it'll cost you alot more than the £150 difference.

Plus, does the German seller actually post to the UK? When you ask for the rate, the reply you get is
#Postage can't be calculated for your area. You can contact the seller (http://contact.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ShowCoreAskSellerQuestion&redirect=0&requested=x-parts_de&iid=180803835666) for additional postage costs and services.

Both are probably made in China for $20 in the same factory. One has a fancy name and likely has some advertising they are hoping to recoup. The other is probably the more honestly priced gizmoid.

The one in blue is clearly faster and obviously worth more to F&TF fans.

they've done a good job at copying the case/writing/wiring/knobs, so your probably right. but its a big risk.
