Hi,
I have a mk1 nova redtop, and the fuel pump is situated at the back under the car by the rear beam. There are 2 parts to it, 1 is onviously the pump but not sure what other is? Filter? Diaphragm? The top on is leaking fuel badly when the car is turned on! What is it? And where will i find one

it's either a filter or pulsation damper. chances are its a filter and its corroded through. Any decent motor factors will stock them.

pics might help.

Would this be a reason why the car wasnt running aswell as before? Because of lack of pressure or something?

there's every chance. it depends just how badly it was pouring out, but it certainly wont have helped.
