You have driven it with it on, so try it without and see what it is like. If yo don't like it, chuck it back on or just break the car as usual ;)
I would say it was personal preference so it is down to you.

I don't run one on my LET, I have one, it got painted and I forgot to put it back on. Lol it's all point and squirt anyway.

Dangerous without

Even more dangerous with an oem Vauxhall designed one fitted (or you behind the wheel of any vehicle). A pilbeam one or similar proper design, then hell yeah fit it.

Never ran one on any of my xe nova's.
Your better with strut mount top and the bottom chassis strut mount.

haha - I love this topic. such mixed answers lol

do a few runs on a particular piece of road you know well, that will be a good test for it. try it on and off, and see what you think :thumb:

Top and bottom braces are aiming to achieve different things to what an anti roll bar do so not really comparable.

I did several testing sessions with and without at Cadwell Park in my XE Nova on semi slicks and ended up leaving it on.

Chances are Iain the reason it felt better with it on was because the cut slicks made a mockery of the spring rates.

To answer the question; I think it comes down to how developed the rest of the car is. Put simply if you're derping around on close to standard setup it'll feel more solid with it on (a good thing), but if you're reducing ride heights, upping spring rates, putting larger wheels on, maybe strengthening some of the body, then chances are you'll feel the reduced turn in and possible understeer (not to mention the few extra KG a solid bar weighs); not being a good thing.

There are far more dynamic ways of making a chassis come alive.

how could a car be dangerous with out it, when loads came out of the factory with out them :wtf:

sounds like more modem expert bull **** to me.

Quite possibly, I've not gone too mad investigating spring rates for tracks and tyres. The car felt 'twitchy' like it wanted to snake left and right during long sweeping corners, whereas with it on it felt much more stable and planted in the same corner without feeling like it wanted to push forward.

i only do burnouts and the odd track day, so the bin it is then!! how do people lower the arb to stop it hitting on the box then?

Adam
24-07-13, 08:13 PM
With lowering blocks lol

I binned my front arb.

Alex J
24-07-13, 08:59 PM
sorry , i ment tie bars

Benn
24-07-13, 09:06 PM
Is the tie bars hitting the lug on the box? If so trim the lug off...

I had one when I was running a c16xe with solid top mounts and solid engine mounts, it was terrible with one on.

Yep chop that bit off the casing or lower the front tie bar mounts.

No ARB for me ,but need to adjust spring rates to compensate

No front arb on mine, and it goes round corners rather well i think, or in laymans terms ive managed to keep it out of the scenery in over a year of abuse lol

Alex J

Is the tie bars hitting the lug on the box? If so trim the lug off...ive cut the lug off, but when its on the deck its touching it, im now mounting the tie bar under the lower arm, just getting these finished up..
