been noticing my fuel cap leaking fuel on tight turns the other day so I got a new seal from vauxhall but it seems too big and still leaks, it's staring to annoy me now. I was told the seal is the same as the one on the oil filler cap but it looks too big just the the one vaux gave me. anyone got any ideas?

yeah it's fine there, I noticed it on the paintwork, the original seal on the cap was perished to hell but this new one is too big so it's more than likely why it's still leaking

Isnt there a ball that sits in the tank at the base of the filler entry that prevents fuel going back up the filler hose (acts as a one way valve)?

That has probably broken off.

It sits in the tank mate its seperate fron the filler neck and tank and just pulls out with a pair of plyers

good luck mate they are really hard to get hold of new and they are really hard to get out of tank without breaking as they are in the large spout on tank gotta get my old 1 out of my old tank as i,ve bought a brand new tank and there is not 1 in there so looks like i may have to cut my old tank to get the plastic ball out.....
