mot- ignition barrel

will a car fail an mot without an ignition barrel. at the moment im starting mine with the black box that plugs into it.but would this cause it to fail i dont think it will just wanna check

Shouldn't fail, my rally car has no ignition as such, just cut off and push start.
And it passed.
