As above. Which loom would require the least amount of effort to wire a late type c20xe into? The original loom in my GSI is riddled with an alarm system I do not wish to disturb, plus the engine/car loom is all one, so I would rather start with one that doesn't need hacked apart as much. ( I know mine could be separated etc but I'd rather have as few cuts/joins as possible in case I run into problems, as it would end up a nightmare to trace).
I will stick up an ad in the wanted section once I know what I am after, or if you have something suitable lying around let me know.
Thanks Steven.

Probs a 1.2/1.3 carb
Edit: not a mk1 loom lol you'll need to swap the dash

Does the engine loom not plug out of a GSi, and the XE plug straight in?
Not on the late gsi it's doesn't its all one loom
If you could get a early gsi loom it will be simple , will plug in all the dash and fuel pump etc , and if you get both ends of the xe loom plug you can swap wires so it plugs in and out
But a xe only requires 5 wires and wouldn't be hard from your loom
1.2 carb mk2 loom, no excess wires to start with.

But he have to run wires for fuel pump :p
Early gsi is deffo the easiest , but as ben said non are hard
My GTE was a doddle as all the fuel pump wiring etc is already there. I just made a loom to go between the existing multi plug and the XE plugs :)
Original GTE plug

Yep but the pump +ve comes off the XE engine loom so it's still in my eyes part of the engine loom and not the car loom :p

Cheers everyone. I would be happy to use my existing loom if it wasn't for the old alarm system running right through it, as it would add quite a bit of work to remove for a simpleton like myself. If I can't get a suitable loom I guess I will have no choice.
Thanks.

It then has to pass though the car fuse box so I would say its car loom.

IMO, pull your loom out, and as long as it's not bodged here, there and everywhere, I would remove the alarm, repair those sections, and just use the original one.
Any that you do use, need to be checked over with a multi meter for continuity/resistance though. Don't, and that's where your future problems will arise, IMO.
Any Nova loom is not complicated, as far as wiring goes.
Just take your time and you will be fine.
