Going mad here trying to find out original colours lol.

I'm looking to get the paint in for my jam yellow nova and I'm trying to figure out what an original A reg sr would be like. I have an original boot decal so my painter is going to match the b pillar and lower vinyl which will be painted to the same shade as the boot decal. It's the spolier and bumper/rub strips I'm struggling with. We're these the same colour as the vinyl or were they lighter?

Scott Parkers bumpers looked mint so was looking to go for that colour but its the green / brown colour and I'm not sure if that's how the early sr's left the factory.

If anyone knows paint codes etc that would be spot on

The early colour from start of production to the 86/87 Mk1 facelift is classed as grey, post 86/87 is classed as blue/grey.
The early grey colour can appear slightly browny green. I saw Scott's at the weekend and it is the closest paint I have seen to the early grey colour. It virtually matched the original finish of the grille badge.
Pester him for the paint code.

Yeah Rich I've asked Scott, he thinks it may be Yukon grey.

In Bazils pic the spolier looks the same as the decal but the bumper looks browner....

This is the most difficult part of the resto haha

I'll bail you out mate lol, you can borrow this to show your painter, a brand new unused and unfaded snow plough tow eye cover,

Should get a good match to it?

Yaaaas, that'll help. Even if it matches the sr boot vinyl that will do.

Pretty much mate, IMO I'd stay with the grey towing eye cover as its closer to the original viynl colour but your welcome to borrow what you want mate,

Door handles and rubbing strips are a different grey to the window surrounds, but the vynal is almost like that, the old early original bumpers were a strange brown grey colour, that's why I searched for the genuine GM bumper colour, but they no longer did it, so I found another GM colour and had a satin agent added to dull it off, after seeing Richards sport bumper I realised how close it is lol
I'll find out what it was and messages you mate, but don't tell no one else, just for the Jamaica yellow crew!..

Don't worry about it Scott, John was chatting to you about your car car and I didn't want to interrupt, I wasn't on the stand much but I should make a better effort next year to chat to folk.
