As above, have a 1400 8v engine here I'm changing the belts on, engine was stripped and I'm rebuilding it, want to double check the belt flow etc
A photo may speed things up

you want to have piston no. 1 at the very top of its stroke when the crankshaft pulley marker lines up. then line up the camshaft pulley with its marker (I think the 1.4 is 5 degrees on the marker, 1.2 and 1.3 are marked 10 degrees)
I stick a thin blunted screwdriver down the plug hole to check the piston height
