View Full Version : Backbox rear hanger
Bit of a strange one, does anybody have a picture of the metal hanger that the exhaust rubber goes on to? I cant get my backbox to sit right and wondered if its in the right position as my boot floor etc was replaced & the backbox has never sat right...also do all 3 door hatches have it in the same position? Help needed please.
i can get some pics tomorrow of my gm standard exhaust on my van it's a 1.5 diesel so i don't know if that would make a difference. i'll post them up tomorrow night for you

Thanks mate,all help very welcome.
no problem i'll get mine up on the ramp at work tomorrow and get snapping. my exhaust is still the original so should be your best shot at getting yours hanging right

Thanks pal,i'm wondering if mine has been welded back on pointing the wrong way on the chassis leg,i.e pointing out towards the wheel instead of back in towards the backbox.

silly question but have you got a mk2 backbox on a mk1 rear bumper or a mk1 back box on a mk2 rear bumper? as the difference in where the tail pipec omes out is pretty huge, it'll look like this with a mk2 exhaust on a mk1 bumper

No,its an ashley backbox for a mk1 & its going on to an 89 gte.i'll try & get a picture up as i've had to bodge it just now to get it to hang on the car till i can find out if its wrong or get it fixed.
Ignore the jubilee clips etc holding it on just now were my only option to hang the backbox at the moment lol the hanger is pointing towards my wheel..is it in the correct position?
